Teacher Workshops Presented by Scott Purdy
One-day teacher seminars guaranteed to make you a more efficient, effective, and creative teacher
When does dedication end and a personal life begin?
As a teacher with over thirty years of experience, I understand the demands we face every day. Yet, I believe teaching is the most important job anyone could have. I taught junior high school in Southern California and am well aware of the seemingly "no-win" situation every teacher faces.
Each day presents a myriad of discipline issues, stacks of papers to correct, hours of planning and organizing, endless meetings, reams of required paperwork, contacts with uninvolved or overly-involved parents, pressure to attain test results, and the endless barrage of negative press and a clueless public. But through all of this, I also know that as a teacher, every time I see a breakthrough in a student's eyes or evaluate the growth of my students as they leave my classroom at the close of each year, I am reassured that what I am doing is valuable.
In these teacher workshops, I share what I have learned about balancing a professional and personal life in my experience as a teacher and administrator. Thousands of teachers have attended my seminars, read my books, and rediscovered the joys of teaching.
